2017 ECO-ASSET MANAGEMENT SYMPOSIUM
The full-day workshop highlighted the history of eco-asset management in BC, and delved into details about how eco-assets in the upper, middle and lower watershed provide ecological services to our communities and how these services could be valued and accounted for in asset management systems. Expert presenters provided information on topics such as drinking water quality and quantity, flood prevention and mitigation, stormwater and sewage effluent management, and sea-level rise. Working sessions followed where community members applied their professional skills and knowledge in a collaborative fashion to explore options for eco-asset management in the Comox Valley.
