Project Description

THE PROJECT PERSEVERANCE

Our partners at the Cumberland Community Forest Society have been working hard to negotiate the acquisition of over 200-acres of riparian and upland forest on either side of Perseverance Creek in Cumberland for conservation purposes.  These lands have been identified by the CVLT conservation planning work as the #1-ranked priority site in the Comox Valley.

CCFS is currently engaged in one last fundraising push to bring in the funds required to purchase the land from Comox Timber and create an exceptional new conservation area in perpetuity.

The Comox Valley Land Trust has been asked to hold a conservation covenant over these lands to ensure that the conservation, watershed protection and low-impact recreation vision for the area is protected in perpetuity.  Drafting, registering and annually monitoring a covenant each have associated costs.  We need your help to cover these costs before March 31st 2020!
