Family Watershed Day

Family Watershed Day is an interactive and educational event focused on watershed health and awareness in celebration of World Rivers Day. Members of the Comox Valley Conservation Partnership will be sharing information, activities, and games all on the theme of local watersheds. This free event will take place at the south end of Mansfield Drive next to the Courtenay Riverway Heritage Walk from 10 am to 3 pm on Sunday, September 22.

Courtenay Air Park Nature Walk

Take this opportunity to join Comox Valley Nature member Kathie Woodley for a walk around the Courtenay River Airpark. Learn about its history and how the town’s sewage lagoon has become one of the most popular walking spots in the Comox Valley. Observe our native plants and birds which make a home here in the estuary. See some of the restoration work in progress.

Project Watershed Estuary Tour

A tour of the estuary talking about the ancient fish traps and their historical significance, current restoration efforts, and the Kus-kus-sum Project.

Puntledge Forest Walk

The Puntledge Forest is made up of a maturing stand of trees, predominantly 100 to 120 year old Douglas fir and cedar. The area was logged in 1902 and left to naturally regenerate. The Comox Valley Land Trust (CVLT) is focusing on protecting this forest so it will become the next generation’s old growth forest [>>]
