Join Comox Valley Nature for a guided walk through the Vanier Garry oak groves, a unique natural area tucked into the heart of Courtenay. Beginning at the large Garry oak near the Sports Centre parking lot, we’ll follow a loop that winds through nearby oak groves, climbs into Vanier Nature Park, and leads us to a restoration site where Comox Valley Nature and the City of Courtenay are working together to protect this rare ecosystem. Along the way, we’ll explore the cultural and ecological importance of the Garry oak habitat and learn how you can get involved in ongoing efforts to support local biodiversity.
