Bat Walk in Puntledge Forest

August 28 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

Join bat specialist Tim Ennis for an engaging evening on bat evolution, biology, habitat needs, and the science behind bat conservation and population monitoring. Tim’s long-standing dedication to studying and protecting bats—often late into the night—will bring the topic to life.

We’ll take a short, easy walk to the Puntledge River, one of the Comox Valley Land Trust’s more recent conservation project areas. There, we’ll settle in by the water to explore how scientists study and protect bats — from using specialized detection equipment and recording calls, to understanding seasonal movements and the role bats play in local ecosystems. As the sun sets (around 8:00 pm), we’ll keep watch for bats beginning their nightly flights.

Registration coming soon.
