Comox Valley, B.C.
Seven Comox Valley residents were honoured in July 2025, for their outstanding contributions to conservation and land stewardship.
The Comox Valley Land Trust (CVLT) created a new “honorary membership” category as a way of recognizing individuals who have made significant conservation contributions.
The seven honourees are Janet Gemmell, Michael Nihls, Bruce Bell, Meaghan Cursons, Lesley Giroday, Chanchal Cabrera, and Gael Arthur. David Stapley, long-time Board Member and current President of CVLT, said “we are so proud of these individuals, and of what they have helped to achieve. Our Valley benefits so much from their hard work and dedication.”
As a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and restoring nature, the Comox Valley Land Trust has been instrumental in safeguarding over 670 hectares of ecologically significant land since its inception in 1999.
