Nordic Dr, Comox-Strathcona C, BC V0R
Strathcona Wilderness Institute, in conjunction with BC Parks, would like to invite members of the public to participate in our ACCESSIBILITY DAY on August 4th to promote Strathcona Park’s ease of access for all people. At that time, we would like to showcase the use of the TRAILRIDER and other wheelchairs we have on site in the Forbidden Plateau area.
The day will include short interpretive tours around the barrier-free Centennial loop (2km) in Paradise Meadows guided by naturalists, and for those interested, longer excursions up to Battleship Lake (3k one way) where participants can enjoy views of the lake from the fishing dock. The day-use area also has picnic tables and a TrailRider accessible toilet.
Please join us for refreshments and tours of the Centennial trail and beyond. The event is located at the Strathcona Park Wilderness Centre – the little “hut” at the Paradise Meadows Trailhead next to the Raven Lodge on Mt Washington. To reach the venue, drive up the Strathcona Parkway to Mt Washington and turn left at the sign to the Raven / Nordic Lodge. For map see our webpage http://strathconapark.org/information-centres/
