I work with the Comox Valley Land Trust www.cvlandtrust.ca to protect natural habitat and quality of life in the Comox Valley.
Right now we're working on a communications strategy to connect with people who share these goals. This is why I am asking you to consider joining our "page" on Facebook at www.Facebook.com/CVLandTrust
Having a Facebook page allows us to make posts about the work we're doing, to let people like you know about emerging conservation and stewardship issues, and to create an easy way for you to let us know what you think about what we're doing, what the important stewardship issues are in the Comox Valley, and for us to have the "online conversation" that can quickly lead to positive results. There are lots of examples around the world of people using things like Facebook to make positive change happen. We want you to be part making it happen here in the Comox Valley.
If you're interested, login in to Facebook or create a FB identity (if you're concerned about privacy, there is the option to "lock down" your personal information and have a fairly private experience by going through the "privacy" settings" in the "account" menu on the top right side of the Facebook screen).
Check our page every couple of days or weeks and feel free to "comment" or "like" the posts that are being generated - by us at CVLT and by people like you who are passionate about the environment in the Comox Valley.
There is strength in numbers. I'd personally like to see as many "likes" on the www.Facebook.com/CVLandTrust page as is possible. I'd like to see people telling us, and the rest of the community, with comments and posts why conservation and stewardship are important to the long term health and quality of life in our community. I am therefore hoping that, once you get a sense of what we're doing, you'll consider inviting your friends and neighbours to "like" the CVLandTrust page.
